Elias B. Okwara is an Analyst at the Peace and Security Section, with a continuing academic background in International Area Studies and Business Administration at Drexel University, Philadelphia. He is currently attached to Vice-President of the European Parliament (EP) Libor Roučeks cabinet.
Mr. Okwara previously served Anneli Jäätteenmäki, former Prime Minister of Finland, where among other efforts, he was involved in the development of a report on setting up an EU rapid response capability that was adopted by the EP Plenary in December, 2010. He worked at international law firm Duane Morris LLP and has had training at the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia.
Recently, Mr. Okwara's paper "Cohabiting State Sovereignty and the Responsibility to Protect" was pre-selected to the Education Without Borders 2011 Conference in Dubai.
