EPSS Lecture: The IMF In The World Economy



On 23 September (18.00 – 20.00) the Global Governance Institute (GGI), in cooperation with Vesalius College Brussels, the Institute for European Studies and the Belgian Royal Military Academy will organise the next European Peace & Security Studies (EPSS) Lecture.

The Lecture will focus on the theme of “The IMF In The World Economy”.

Venue: Pleinlaan 5, 1050 Brussels (Rome room, floor -1)

The EPSS Lecture will begin at 18.00 and will be followed by a Q&A session and a light reception.

 

Speaker:

Jeffrey Franks, Director of the IMF Europe Office and Senior Resident Representative to the European Union since March 2015.

Previously, Dr. Franks spent nearly 3 years as mission chief for Pakistan. A 22 year veteran of the Fund, he has held numerous other assignments working mainly on Europe and Latin America, including heading the resident offices in Ukraine and Ecuador, and leading teams on Romania, France, Belgium, and Paraguay. He received his Ph.D. in Political Economy and Government from Harvard, and has Master’s degrees from Princeton and Oxford universities.
