On 8 March 2024, Professor Daniel Alvunger (Professor of Education, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Vice-Rector for the European University Alliance for Well-being - EUniWell at Linnaeus University, Sweden) visited the Global Governance Institute’s Global Education and Innovation Unit.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss and explore a variety of cooperation initiatives between Linnaeus University, GGI and the European University Alliance for Well-being in the realm of teaching and training, research and policy-oriented impact. Linnaeus University and GGI concluded a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2023 to advance collaboration between both institutions and maximise synergies between the Swedish, Belgian and EU-focused education environments.

A key priority is the cooperation between GGI and Linnaeus University in co-coordinating intensive preparations for EUniWell’s new flagship MA programme on Global Peace, Justice and Well-being, which will offer an innovative, interdisciplinary and trans-European new graduate programme across the Alliance. Professor Alvunger and the GGI team also exchanged views and ideas for cooperation initiatives related to joint grant applications and educational offerings at the intersection of well-being, teaching excellence, and resilience in a changing European higher education landscape.
