Hanne is a Senior Non-Resident Fellow in GGI’s Global Education section and an Associate Professor Emerita at the University of Copenhagen . Her work focuses on public administration, with a special interest in gender, organizational change, and power in academia.
She retired from the University of Copenhagen in 2025, where her research and teaching centred on gender and organizational change, particularly gender and power in academia, a theme reactivated in 2025 on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of women’s entrance to the university. Since receiving half a year of pedagogical training in 1986, she has continuously contributed to the development of teaching, learning, and supervision, guided by her core principle of learning and knowledge creation for the benefit of society. Over the past decade, Hanne participated in a university-wide project advancing Research-Teaching-Integration at the University of Copenhagen. She also held a number of leadership positions, including five years as Head of Studies and coordinator of teaching and supervision of bachelor and master theses. Beyond Denmark, she has engaged in international initiatives such as the European Network on Teaching Excellence (E-NOTE). Hanne has also contributed to higher education quality processes in Norway, serving on NOKUT’s Committee for Work-Life Relevance and on the Advisory Board for the Norwegian Agency for International Cooperation and Quality Enhancement in Higher Education’s Quality Programmes (2021–2023). With GGI, her focus is on leadership, implementation, and the organization of teaching development in higher education.
