Kawaar Mahmoud is a Junior Analyst in the Artificial Intelligence and Global Governance section. A law enthusiast on a journey through the intricacies of global legal systems, he has an LL.M. in Public International Law from the University of Groningen, and an LL.M. in European Union Law from the University of Ghent.
Kawaar is interested in examining how Artificial Intelligence complies with human rights, how to better tackle the ever-evolving challenge of cybercrime, and understanding how different legal systems can team up to fend off digital threats and protect citizens. He is currently on a quest to understand how AI might be used for international crimes, in order to prevent technology from being used to commit atrocities.
