Silke Rusch

Peace and Security

Silke Rusch is a Non-Resident Senior Fellow in the Peace and Security Section. She served until recently as deputy head of the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) Section in the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations in New York.

Her area of expertise is UN peacekeeping, in particular political processes, Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration and negotiations with armed groups. She has held positions with the United Nations in the Central African Republic, Geneva, Libya and Sudan and with the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces. Ms Rusch holds a Masters in Political Sciences from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po), a Maîtrise en droits from the Universite de Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne), an LL.M. from the University of Cologne and has studied at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
