Matthew is a Fellow in the Democracy and Human Rights section. He is a doctoral researcher at the University of Glasgow in the United Kingdom. He holds an MSc in International Security Studies from Charles University Prague, and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the United States.
Matthew's primary research is in the study of ethnic cleansing and genocide, the micro-dynamics of violence during armed conflict, and critical approaches to international security.
