On 19 June 2025, GGI's Vitalii Rishko appeared on TVP World to discuss the upcoming NATO Summit in The Hague and the issue of Ukraine's membership in the Alliance.
The interview addressed the reports that Ukraine’s NATO membership will not be on the Summit’s agenda, as well as broader expectations for the Summit’s outcomes. The conversation also touched on the latest developments regarding a possible meeting between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Besides, Rishko commented on the latest US efforts to promote diplomacy between Russia and Ukraine. He emphasized that Europe is approaching a critical juncture and that a transition towards a post-American European security order may not be far off, given Washington’s apparent intent to rebalance its global commitments, shift more responsibility to European NATO member states, and potentially reduce US military aid to Ukraine in the next federal budget.
Finally, Rishko outlined Ukraine’s potential priorities for the Summit - most notably, holding a meeting with Trump to discuss the purchase of US weapons and strengthening Ukraine’s air defenses in response to Russia’s ongoing attacks on civilian populations across the country.
