Alice is currently working at the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction as UN Fellow. Previously, she worked across the research, public, and European institutional sectors on disaster risk reduction and emergency management. Her background encompasses civil protection policy at the European Commission's Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations, operational experience within the Italian Civil Protection system at the local level, and research on cross-border emergency cooperation between Italy and Slovenia.
Her expertise lies at the intersection of disaster risk reduction, resilience governance, and emergency management, with a particular focus on urban resilience, climate-induced hazards and cross-border cooperation. Combining research, policy, and operational perspectives, she examines how institutions and communities can anticipate, adapt to, and recover from complex risks. Her work focuses on strengthening the links between international and European policy frameworks and local practice, while highlighting the critical role of community participation and inclusive governance in building effective and sustainable resilience. Alice holds two Master's degrees in International Security Studies from Charles University, and in Politics and Public Administration from the University of Konstanz, and is currently finalising a third Master's degree in Crisis and Disaster Management at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart.
