Laure Gillot-Assayag

Dr. Laure Gillot-Assayag is a Senior Fellow in the Global Education section. She is also a UNU-CRIS Visiting Fellow (Belgium), a postdoctoral fellow "Democratic Vistas" at Goethe University Frankfurt (Germany), and an associate researcher in political science at EHESS (France). Her research explores the relationship between ethics and democracy, focusing on how values, norms, and critical thinking shape education and knowledge production, in connection with the philosophical foundations of education and its role in democratic life.

She previously served as a lecturer at Sciences Po (France) and worked as a consultant for UNESCO-IESALC, delivering a brief on democratic education in higher education institutions worldwide. Her research on education has been published in academic journals, including the Journal of Philosophy of Education (Cambridge University Press) and Diotime (UNESCO). She has been a COST expert evaluator for large-scale EU research projects in the social sciences and humanities for more than 5 years.
