On 15 October, the Global Governance Institute (GGI) welcomed a delegation of students from Aarhus University’s Political Science Students’ Council. Their study visit to Brussels — co-funded by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of Denmark’s 2025 EU Council Presidency activities — sought to explore how young Europeans can engage with policymaking and global governance at the heart of the EU.

As part of their programme, which also included visits to the Danish Delegation to NATO and the UNDP, the students attended a lecture at GGI introducing the concept of global governance and tracing its evolution, institutional frameworks, and the key challenges facing international cooperation today.

In addition to the thematic session, GGI staff offered insights into the role of think tanks in bridging research and policy, illustrating how independent institutes like GGI contribute to evidence-based policymaking and foster dialogue between scholars, practitioners, and decision-makers.

The visit concluded with an open discussion on youth engagement in global affairs, providing students with a unique opportunity to exchange views with policy experts and gain first-hand understanding of the work of an international think tank in Brussels.
